• Engine

Delivering power that hits like a sledgehammer and torque strong enough to twist the earth, the proven LC8 V-twin once more earns the honors as the segment's most compact, lightest, and best-performing engine. It's greener as well, and will provide 15,000 km service intervals and low fuel consumption, one trip and one mile after another.

• Frame

On the KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R, a new, reworked, lightweight chrome-molybdenum stainless steel trellis frame with laser-cut tubes is paired with forged elements to create an ultra-strong component. Shifting the steering head 15 mm toward the rear shortens the frame overall for better cornering behavior, and the front engine mount now sits rotated 2 degrees forward to assist under hard acceleration, which keeps the front end pressed firmly to the ground.

• Handlebar

The high-strength tapered aluminum handlebars are wide, adjustable, and prepared for lengthy hours in the saddle, designed to give riders greater control and uncompromised comfort. Robust, newly developed handguards were also designed for optimal aerodynamic behavior where high-speed stability is concerned.

• LED headlight

Designed to illuminate the path on any adventure, the KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R's LED headlight makes night look like day. Cornering lights and daytime running lights sit on either side. The outcome is a clean, distinctly KTM appearance that delivers impeccable illumination, with a wide beam pattern brightening the road ahead.

• Dashboard

An all-new, scratch-resistant 7-inch TFT display is in command at the helm. With graphics and readability that are unmatched, it lets adventurers pull up information on the go, fast and simply, with no complex menus to work through. That's made possible by a 6-way switch cube on the handlebar along with the new quick select and favorites buttons. KTM MY RIDE handles connectivity as well, linking over Bluetooth for turn-by-turn navigation, music, and even taking calls. Glare still a problem? The tilt angle of the TFT screen can be adjusted.
