• Advanced engineering techniques give the FC 450 engine maximum performance. Light at just 59 lb (26.8 kg), the engine is built to centralize mass for improved handling, and it significantly improves the chassis's anti-squat behavior. Compared with earlier models, the FC 450 engine is easier to service thanks to service markers that have been added to the engine cases.

• Incredibly compact, the SOHC cylinder head places the camshaft as near to the center of gravity as it can go, giving unrivaled handling and agility. For optimal efficiency and reliability, a hard-wearing, fine-punched cam chain travels on low-friction chain guides, and one oil spray jet makes sure cooling is effective. A rocker arm actuates the lightweight valves, whose timing is tailored specifically to provide precise amounts of torque and throttle response.

• Thanks to material that is optimally distributed around the steering head and upper shock mount, the frame gives confidence-inspiring handling and assured stability on corner entry. A premium white powder coat finishes the chromium molybdenum chassis, complementing the machine's overall look. • Built from 60% polyamide and 40% aluminum, the two-piece subframe ensures exceptional strength and durability while weighing just 3.9 lb (1.8 kg) overall. Cast aluminum is used for the lower subframe spars and the frame mounts, significantly improving reliability. Injection-molded polyamide forms the upper part of the subframe, allowing specific flex characteristics and ensuring a light construction.

• The bodywork's ergonomics were designed so riders can give their best performance for the full length of every race. Extensive testing made this possible, and the smooth contact points in the rider triangle let racers clamp the machine tightly with their legs, cutting fatigue. In-mold graphics on the radiator shrouds add to the machine's progressive look, and a tall, wide seat allows unrestricted movement. A high-grip seat cover also helps hold riders securely in position under hard acceleration.

• By cutting down on deformation, a sturdy one-piece airbox optimizes the intake of air. This layout gives air an unrestricted path for maximum power, with no compromise to filter protection. Removing the left side panel is all it takes to easily check the Twin Air filter, with no tools needed.

• The wheels are built from CNC-machined hubs, strong spokes, and high-strength, black-anodized alloy rims made by D.I.D. The latest Dunlop MX34 tires complete them; the front tire ensures precise cornering, and the rear offers excellent traction over varied terrain.
